All grains start life as whole grains.

In their natural state growing in the fields, whole grains are the entire seed of a plant.

provide more food and less waste

they provide almost 50% of all calories eaten

can feed more people with less land

save water

support better land use and healthy soil

International Whole Grain Day is a whole day celebration aimed at getting to know more about whole grain and discovering how good and delicious it can be for you, while raising awareness of its environmental benefits.

Despite all its benefits, whole grain consumption remains too low:

World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) identify low intake of whole grains as the leading dietary risk factor in almost all WHO regions.
